Can you please enlighten me as to what these videos have to do with Kodi? It appears nothing.

If Kodi is involved, please give me a timestamp in each video so I don't have to sit through minutes of you downloading a file over transmission, which is really bloody boring.

Standard Premium Kodi feature tests would include (using a standard Kodi install direct from the Playstore)

1) Auto Kodi dynamic refresh switching to match a TV's refresh rate to that of the fps of the source video.

For a PVR capable - Internationally sold Media player running Kodi, this is extremely important because in countries with OTA DVB TV broadcast at 25/50fps you want to run the Android System Resolution at 1080p50hz for smooth video Sync, and then when playing video in Kodi. Auto Refresh switch to a corresponding fps rate to get the video sync timing correct for all other video content.

Otherwise, users buying this device for PVR use in 25/50fps DVB TV territories will have to manually change Android System Resolution/Hz settings each and every time they want to watch Movies/TV series in Kodi. Otherwise expect video, playback jitter and judder.

2) Correctly Synced 24p (23.976 & 24fps) video and also 29.97 / 59.94 frames per second (fps) support.

3) Working & tested Android IEC61937 Audio support for comprehensive AC3/DTS & HD Audio passthrough when using Kodi Krypton.

4) Android Multichannel PCM Audio support in the Android HAL itself for FLAC and AAC Kodi PCM decoded Audio output.

5) Deinterlacing testing to carefully look for Full Motion High quality deinterlaced TV when using Kodi PVR's. Very important for Fast actions sports.

Kodi v18 "Leia" nightly with U5PVR (20170525-16ace17-master-armeabi-v7a.apk)

Basically, test Kodi 18 is a beta version, so there may be have some problems.

However, we can predict the performance of the Kodi18 video playback performance in U5PVR.

1. Smarfs UHD Blu-ray file : OK
2. Billy Lynn's UHD (4K@60fps@10bit) : OK

conclusion

1. 4K@60fps@HEVC@10bit : HW decoding reproduction capability of video is much better than Kodi17.

2. 4K@HDR@BT2020 : needs more confirmation.

3. The screen flip occurs occasionally,
If you press the Stop key during video playback, the Kodi app was offed very often.
Skips and drops appear in video playback. (For 4K video playback)

4. In Kodi18beta, when connecting TVHeadend tuner, PVR playback problem disappears as HW decoding is normal.
(In the existing Kodi17, playback was done by SW decoding.)
However, deinterlacing and mosaic are being observed. We do not know what kind of codec they are using in Kodi18 (presumably as an Android media player), but we need to check that kodi18 are using the Exoplayer codec.

5. After recognizing speech in ATV OS Leanback Launcher,
the video link card connected to Kodi's or Plex's movie library should be shown, but it is not working yet.
We need to ensure that any conditions are met, but it is possible.

All new features were worked well on U5PVR like your article.



TV part was also improved to decode by HW with TVHeadend plugin
17.x version has issue to decode by SW sometimes even if that was H.265 or TS format,
so picture was like slow motion But on 18 version, it is disappear. it is working without problem.





We expect that KODI 18 will be good media solution on Android TV box.
