Do you mean Ability to decode a wide variety of codecs ?
What about Audio ?
Fluidity in the Kodi GUI ?
Ease of use and upgrade Performance ?

Your questions are far too broad in scope. Particularly when it comes to brand new Intel Hardware which has so many variables that it turns into a can or worms trying to give an anywhere near correct answer. Look yourself in the individual Intel Hardware threads
Kodi 17 is so new as well that the answer you need cannot given at this time. Then you have new Android Nougat on the Shield that has just been implemented and is causing "teething" issues.
Have you looked yourself if the Apps you need are actually supported on the (Android TV OS only) Google Play Store ?

If the required Apps are not there then its Sideload Android Apps time and some sort of Air Mouse will be needed to use the regular touchscreen Android Apps on the nVIDIA Shield.
