I just found this in Kodi 16.1, and it persists in Kodi 17.0-rc4. I connect a bluetooth headset, somehow make it work with the A2DP profile (I think deselecting it as an input device was key to success), meaning that at least safari plays back correctly. Then I decide to watch some TV, and whenever Kodi starts playing back a channel (tvheadend backend), the audio is switched back to HFP profile. With 17.0 at least the profile is set back to A2DP after playback is stopped.

Try this. It solved similar issues for me. Not sure why it switches from one to the other though. Maybe something to do with the audio encoding from different sources.
