Hi. I am having trouble getting Kodi 17 to display in correct 1080p resolution. When the TV and Receiver are started, (I have set this as an activity on the Harmony), Kodi usually displays in the 720x576 resolution. I can change it to 1080 using System>display>resolution but it reverts back to 720 on restarting the TV and receiver. The NUC is permanently on.
Any ideas why this is happening and how I can ensure the 1080p res persists?
Kodi 17
Box: Intel NUC 6i3SYK (Win 10)
Receiver: Onkyo TX-NR626
TV: LG60LA6230
Control: Harmony 650

I am seeing the exact same thing. It reverts to the lowest resolution which in my case I think is 1024x768. It sometimes does this when I stop a video, when the TV is turned off and on again, etc. I've tried to figure out the exact pattern but so far that's it.
I'm running:
- Windows 10 (latest)
- V17 Krypton RTM release
- GPU: ATI Radeon 3000
- Kodi says it's running DirectX 11.1, but windows says DX12. Not sure if that matters at all.
Let me know if you need any more info!
Thanks,
Eric.

Although I don't mind trying these, this behavior did start happening the second I updated to Krypton. This was not a problem in 16.1 at all. Changing registry settings in order to force a resolution doesn't seem like a permanent fix :/ The \ doesn't really work for me either because it looks like it (sometimes) also flips Windows' resolution down to 1024x768, so you end up with a windowed kodi that's inside that smaller desktop. If I flip Windows' resolution back up to 1920x1080, then flip kodi to fullscreen, it's now fullscreen, but at 1024x768. I can then change the resolution in Kodi's settings, which brings it up to 1920x1080.
Based on the fact that I've read other posts of this happening on different OSs, and it just starting to happen the second I updated to Krypton, I'd say it's unfortunately an issue with Kodi :/
Is there anything I can do to help fix this? Would a debug dump help? I can let it run until this happens and see if there's anything usefull in there.
Thanks,
Eric.

Just wanted to say I had the same problem on my NUC. Don't know if it was Kodi or because I also upgraded to W10 on that machine before a new install of Kodi, but the suggestion to cover pin 19 on the hdmi cable worked for me. Good luck!

Thanks for the update rafisher.
Unfortunately, I don't think this is a very good solution long term. This was all working before Krypton released. I'll try the RC in the next few days to see if things are back to normal, although I didn't see anything in the bug fixes about it.
Again, let me know if a debug log or something would be useful! I'm also a dev so don't mind helping out if I can, unfortunately Python and C++ aren't my primary languages lol.
Thanks,
Eric.

Mike, any news with the RC test?
I tried setting the res on my receiver to 1080p but that still did not resolve it...

Hey sorry for the reply.
No luck with the RC. I've noticed it seems to flip back to 768 when I finish watching something that was streamed as opposed to a local video. I'll try to reproduce and then enable debug logs, which may help the team a bit more.

Are you saying changes in Kodi? Or in general? Because in my case, this started with Kodi 17, never had a problem before, and hardware has remained exactly the same.
