MediaPortal 2 vs MediaPortal 1 server backend
#1
As a long standing user of Kodi as a frontend for a MediaPortal DVB-T2 TV server I was wondering whether any users can help me understand whether there are any advantages in updating my server to MediaPortal ver 2.

I have looked into this a couple of times and tried to determine what the differences might be, but haven't found it very easy. With the recent pre-release of MP2.1 I was wondering whether anything was about to change,

One compelling reason I might consider an upgrade, for example, would be if i could get series links working, something I have not been able to do with MP1.

At the moment I can't see any advantage, am I missing anything?

Cheers

The TVServer of MediaPortal 1 and 2 is almost identical. For Kodi, there is no difference.
So if you are not using the MediaPortal frontend, there is no real benefit from upgrading to MP2.1.

Thank you for the feedback, really appreciate it.

I had kind of come to the same conclusions but wanted to check I wasn't missing a killer feature of MP2!
