Win Kodi 17 freezes on exit
#1
After upgrading to kodi 17 whenever I go power options>exit the program just freezes and I have to force shut it manually with windows control manager. I have tried using a fresh install to no avail. I'm also currently running a mysql server which this computer is the host of.

Any advice on how to fix this? Here's my log http://pastebin.com/2mkKF76w

Any help is appreciated!

Similar issue here. my log showed some audiodb error, and possibly a skin helper (from eminence) error. I'll submit my debug when I get home tonight.

There's a program called 'Process Explorer' if you don't have it, grab it here. freebee https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysi...lorer.aspx run Kodi in windowed mode, ensure it's working as intended. Then run PE, note the Kodi.exe in the list of running programs and hit properties (a small window should open up, go to the TCP/IP tab) close Kodi and observe, If you see a few addresses, that's Kodi waiting to close, held up by the networking waiting for a response.

Looks like some networking issue

Same problem. Nothing helpful in the log.

Yes it's these waiting for a network response, that ultimately holds up the proper exit. Sometimes it's add-ons that have a path into the twilghtzone, and other times it's the local network taking it's time when other machines are off and not responding. Using process explorer will give you an idea of what rogue extras are holding up the show, sometimes the log will show a 404 failure or unreleased object.

Yes I tried process explorer, no deal. The addresses all clear quickly and kodi stays frozen.

Hello,

same Problem here with 4 PCs. Only 1 without SQL Connection works correct.

All of those 'Me Too', posters, should post a proper debug log to a public pastebin and link that URL back to this thread, with a bit of information as to failure to close, frozen, crashed on exit etc.

I would have but I can't post my log unfortunately. I'm behind a corporate firewall that blocks file sharing sites.

One thing I've always found with Kodi on Windows is that running it in a window will increased the likelihood of a Freeze/Hang on Exit, and it was almost guaranteed if I toggled between fullscreen and window a few times, but on the same PCs, when running full-screen I rarely have an issue.
Kodi 17.6 on multiple Windows 10 x64 machines with shared MySQL 5.6.43 database. Kodi 18 on Xbox One. Content (music, video, photos) stored on Windows Server 2012 R2 file server and accessed by SMB.

Ok, it's happening on my Home HT PC too. Here's the info:

Windows Home 64bit v1607
kodi-17.0-Krypton
Intel i5-6600 3.3GHz
8GB Ram

To reproduce the error: Exit Kodi via the power menu. Kodi stops responding.

Just started happening to me too on Krypton 17. Has there been an update? (I have the Windows 10 app build so may have been updated without me knowing?)

Was working fine a couple days ago and now it hangs when trying to exit.

According to this thread http://forum.kodi.tv/showthread.php?tid=306142 among other things having EVGA Precision X / XOC running causes this issue. If this is the case switch to MSI Afterburner, that's what fixed it for me.
