NFO help
#1
Hi

I have some non-scrapable video that I'd like to see in TV Shows section. I have created local NFOs following the Wiki using Notepad++ but had no success after forcing the library refresh by setting the folder content to 'None' then resetting it to 'TV show'.

I can't access the log (add-in didn't work, can't putty in, can't access command line at boot-up), so hopefully there's something obviously wrong here that I'm not picking up!

Many thanks in advance.

I would suggest changing your file structure first.
The example below would be the standard.

Code:
New Zealand Trip\poster.jpg
New Zealand Trip\tvshow.NFO
New Zealand Trip\Season 01\New Zealand Trip s01e01.mkv
New Zealand Trip\Season 01\New Zealand Trip s01e01.NFO
New Zealand Trip\Season 01\New Zealand Trip s01e02.mkv
New Zealand Trip\Season 01\New Zealand Trip s01e02.NFO
New Zealand Trip\Season 01\New Zealand Trip s01e03.mkv
New Zealand Trip\Season 01\New Zealand Trip s01e03.NFO

I created this file structure in my own library (using your posted NFO content) and it scanned in with no problems.

Once you have re-organised, make sure you set the source content type to TV Shows, Local information only and scan the folder again.

Hi zerocool_ie

Thanks very much for your advice. I have updated the file structure accordingly and removed/re-added the folder with 'TV/local info only' scraper but still no joy.

I managed to SSH into Kodi and this is what i found in the kodi.log. Seems it's not seeing the tvshow.NFO file, and its search of metadata.local.xml is also failing. I used Notepad++ to create the nfo's posted above, and have used Notepad with UTF-8 encodng to re-create tvshow.nfo - both failing.

Any further suggestions or advice much appreciated!!

Strange, as it worked for me, albeit on Krypton.

Can you double check that tvshow.nfo is in smb://SERVER/Kids TV/New Zealand Trip/ ?

Also, try browsing to SERVER/Kids TV via Videos -> Files in Kodi. Select New Zealand Trip and press 'i'. If it gives you an information screen, click 'Refresh' to force a reload of the nfo information.

Hi zerocool_ie

Sorry for the delay in replying. I used your advice on another set of non-movie/tv database files, and it worked a treat. So thank you!

Something about the NZ Trip files is throwing an error somehow. Maybe there's still a pointer to the previous structure which is causing it to fail when Refreshed?

In any case, I am now on the right track overall so thank you very much!
