Random Freezing Kodi 16 & 17
#1
I hadn't upgraded in a white, recently tried out LibreELEC 7.90/7.95 (Kodi 16/17).

I've having a few issues whereby Kodi seems to slow to a stand still whilst in library view and eventually just freezes altogether and requires a reboot.

Some of the nfos in my library date back to 2008 ish and I'm not sure if some rogue XML may be causing this?

I've tested this on 3 different machines and each time I have the same issue (using Nvidia and AMD Gpus and with different CPUs) so I'm guessing it must be something in my library?

I've got the full debug logs but I've noticed the below errors appear 100s/1000s times, could this be causing issues?

18:23:25.752 T:139866809296640 DEBUG: GetArtwork: Reading artwork for 'tt0247082' using Local information only scraper (file: '/usr/share/kodi/addons/metadata.local', content: 'tvshows', version: '1.0.0')

I also had no issue with the same files/nfos and hardware with Gotham. Runs super stable with no issues.

I think I've solved this by re-writing all the NFOs for my TV episodes. Some dated back to 2007 and contained URLs.

Could this really cause random freezing? (outside of the actual scan process too)

Running for the last 48 hours with no issues so far, same hardware and software.

try to click on your link and see that you'll get a 403

Yeah that's what made me think to re-scrape the nfos. They needed updating anyway to be honest but it was a bit of a chore.

Seems OK now. Smile

Spoke too soon....

Installed Trakt (which was running when I had issues previously) and it's doing it again. I've had 3 days of no probles prior to re-installing Trakt.

Random freezing on the main menu, whilst in library view etc Sad
