krypton freezing
#1
hi spent the last couple of nights trying to find a solution to this but cant figure it out. Thought it was only freezing from watching local movies but as it turns out it can also freeze it the main menu area and when it does its just kodi its self. Am I right in thinking i should give this a shot 231955 (thread)

I've been having the same problem for weeks.

Tried re-writing my entire library of nfos. Tested on 3x different machines. Seems to be completely random, either on the main menu, during playback or in TV Show/Movie library view.

I've noticed that sitting idle in video library view, CPU usage jumps between 50 and 90% (quad core) in comparison to XBMC 13.2 (on identical hardware/config) where it sits around 20%

@TCCalvin: No you don't!

Don't highjack other people's threads without providing any information.

fritsch, is this the pulse deadlock you fixed in master?

@wsnipex I don't think so.

He uses a Broadwell. That one needs dependend on mesa / intel drivers, disabled SNA.

I'd upgrade the kernel and revisit.

Would it be worth upgrading to 16.1 ubuntu, would that upgrade the kernel as well? or just upgrade it by its self with 16.04

Can you try LibreELEC 7.95.3 from an USB stick first? Does that also freeze?

So I got frustrated last night and just went ahead and installed ubuntu 16.1 before looking on here, then reinstalled krypton and it hasn't had any problems so far. So I'm going to put it down to updating the kernel?
