Win Sound settings switches to DIRECTSOUD after Remote Desktop connection
#1
Hi,

If I launch Kodi (doesn't matter which version) via Remote Desktop, Audio output device (Settings -> System settings -> Audio -> Audio output device) switches to DIRECTSOUND..

If login normally (not via Remote Desktop) and launch Kodi - I need to switch Audio output device back to WASAPI AMD HDMI...

Is it possible to freeze Audio out put device setting?

Thanks!!!

1. Kodi v17.0
2. Windows 10 Pro
3. AMD A6-3500 APU 64bit
4. 4GB RAM

Kodi interrogates what audio is possible, and if WASAPI AMD HDMI is chosen and it's not available, the default is DIRECTSOUND Audio quickstart guide (wiki)

So no way to make it work this way then?

If WASAPI HDMI is available - use WASAPI. If WASAPI AMD HDMI not available - no sound at all (better no sound than DIRECTSOUND).

?

Thanks!

Separation of audio & video from an HDMi output might be a trick, perhaps you can solve for us, otherwise please consult your hardware manufacture.

I have the same problem and I solved it by selecting use default (not wasapi or directsound), now audio output is always wasapi.

Have you tried changing the advanced settings in the Remote Desktop Client?
Show Options > Local Resources > Remote Audio

I was having similar problems until I changed the setting to "play on remote computer"
