Someone mentioned elsewhere that the "boost centre channel" option had been removed in Krypton. I'm wondering whether this includes the Pi builds. It's pretty important to me.

Yes, "Boost centre channel when downmixing" is still included in RPi Krypton builds (it's there in LibreELEC 8.0.0). You'll need to enable at least the "Advanced" Settings level to see it in System settings > Audio.
