1080p60 video stuttering when setting output to 4k
#1
When I set my Intel NUC to display 4k@30hz and play a 1080p60 video in Kodi the video stutters constantly. If I set the NUC to display 1080p60, Kodi plays it fine. Also 1080p@24fps movies play fine. It's just the 1080p60 moves that have a problem it seems. I changed to software rendering but it didn't change it. Any ideas on how to fix this?

I would just leave my NUC at 1080p, but when viewing pictures in Kodi it looks pretty terrrible so I want to output at 4k.

How do you think you can play 60 frames on a 30 hz display?
First decide what functions / features you expect from a system. Then decide for the hardware. Don't waste your money on crap.

I assumed it would switch the TV mode from 4k@30 to 1080p@60 similarly to how it switches to 1080p@24 when playing a movie. I set Adjust Display Refresh which I thought was used for this?

I won't change the resolution down only up, 1080 > 4k not 4k > 1080

Ok thanks for the info. Guess I'll have to get my NUC to run 4k@60 to fix this problem then or force the NUC to run at 1080p and live with pictures looking bad.
