Not quite, not "on your tv", if you are using OTA (Over-The-Air) then we are talking about the physical television antenna cable that is usually connected to your TV.
OTA (Over-The-Air) television signals => physical television antenna => physical TV tuner adapter => PVR server software = > Kodi (with PVR client).
Google is your friend, and so is Wikipedia. Read:

You need an physical television antenna to recieve OTA (Over-The-Air) television signals, but it could be that you have cable television, if so then use that physical antenna cable if you have a subscription.

You also need to get a physical TV tuner card/adapter compatible with your antenna/signal source, which will normally be either a USB TV-tuner adapter or networked attached TV-tuner (such as SiliconDust HDHomeRun), and you then connect the physical antenna to the physical TV-tuner.
You then need a PVR software that supoports the TV-tuner and can recieve + decode the signal, for that read:

If you still do not understand then ask a more specific question or ask a more technical friend. We can only spoonfeed to a certain degree.
