If you are using Kodi as the front end, why would you worry about keeping MediaPortal up to date?

Yes, you’re right. It was a bad idea. My PC crashed and I had to do a fresh install. So I thought I take the newes software. I didn’t check compatibilities before. Now I’m thinking about a downgrade.

Yeah, the MediaPortal TV server is basically in 'freeze', and the same one is used for MP1 and MP2. I guess they bump the version number, which breaks compatibility with plugins, but that's about it. No benefit to using MP2, or updating.
