[Release] CBC.ca News

Everything looks reasonably solid. The dailly National updates are great, but the "Live" section only gives me an option for a webcam stream of a giraffe giving birth. Hmmmmmm.

So is CBC News no longer being live streamed for everyone, or am I missing something?

Have a look in the morning or around dinner time. The live streams only appear in the listings slightly before they start and during the broadcast. The giraffe video I'm guessing is a placeholder or some bizarre Canadian fetish Smile.

Hi @learningit here is my log. I'm using it on Jarvis 16.1. Can't seem to get any streams to work.

Thanks for looking

I'm guessing that you're running a DNS or proxy service for US feeds on that system. CBC thinks your IP is: 100.4.166.233 which is not in Canada, which generates a 403 forbidden error.
If you are, turn it off. If you aren't, I haven't a clue.
Some non-Canadian IPs do not generate 403 errors, others do - I haven't a clue why though.

Oh okay. I did suspect that. I am located in Canada but using Dynamo DNS. I'll turn it off and report back. Thanks.

Download zip, unzip and move/copy the unzipped folder plugin.video.cbcnews into your addons directory.

zip can be loaded here:
http://mirrors.kodi.tv/addons/krypton/pl...o.cbcnews/

the addon requires script.module.t1mlib, which can also be loaded here:
http://mirrors.kodi.tv/addons/isengard/s...le.t1mlib/

it should work as low as Isengard.

Hi Smile I'm running Kodi 16 on an Android box and 1) How does one unzip/move folders into the addon directory? Do you mean the usual 'install from zip', then install from repo? (apologies if that's a stupid question) Also, 2) I downloaded both zips and I get the msg 'Requires xbmc.python version 2.25.0 which is not available'

Any help rectifying this/these issues would be greatly appreciated, as I really want this addon Smile thanks much

You cannot just install from the repo or download the zips. You need to download the zips to a PC or other platform where you can use a text editor to make the necessary changes then copy the modified files to the Addons directory on your Android. Finding the Addons directory in Android can sometimes be a bitch.
You need to use a utility such as ADB or ES Explorer to move files on Android from another PC where you have unzipped and modified the files. Not so easy to explain that process if you're not already familiar with those types of utilities and where your Android platform places files.
You can use the file manager built into Kodi if you unzip the files, make the necessary edits and then put the addon folder on an SMB. You can then move the folder to the addons folder on the Android platform using the file manager. Again, not so easy to describe (at least for me) if you aren't familiar with your Android platform layout, they can differ one platform to another.

What Android box are you using?
I have a AFTV and Firestick which I.use for testing, so I can help locate the correct folders on those platforms. Other platforms may be in totally different places.

Thanks for the reply :) When I updated to Kodi 17.1, the issue(s) disappeared and the addon is working fine (yay).

Thanks again :)
