Could maybe Kodi add music scrobbling to ListenBrainz.org just like it can already scobbel to Libre.FM ( libre.fm ) and LastFM ( Last.FM )?

https://listenbrainz.org

ListenBrainz (Listen Brainz) is a project of the MetaBrainz Foundation and is also based on data from MusicBrainz.

The ListenBrainz project is similar to the original AudioScrobbler. Unlike the original project, ListenBrainz is open source and will publish its data as open data.

A team of former Last.fm and current MusicBrainz hackers created the first version of ListenBrainz in the space of a weekend. Since the original project was created, technology has advanced at an incredibly rapid pace, which made re-creating the original project fairly straightforward.

The project has two main goals:
  • Allow users to preserve their existing Last.fm® data. ListenBrainz is operated by the MetaBrainz Foundation which has a long-standing history of curating, protecting and making data available to the public. MetaBrainz commits itself to safe-guarding the ListenBrainz data indefinitely.
    • Make this incredibly useful music usage data available to anyone who cares to play with it. We hope that the combination of ListenBrainz, MusicBrainz and AcousticBrainz will provide enough data for developers to create new music recommendation systems. Music recommendation systems are hard to develop because comprehensive music data sets do not exist in the open. Normally start-ups spend vast amounts of money to create these data sets before building recommendation systems. We aim to short-cut this process and put the power to create recommendation engines into the hands of everyone. We plan to release the data under the CC0 License.

You ever find a Kodi addon that supports ListenBrainz? Seeking such myself atm.

Just got Google Play Music addon working, with Last.fm and Libre.FM but falls short of perfect due to being unable to find a way to get ListenBrainz "listens" to submit. I know Simple Last FM Scrobbler on android supports all 3.

I've started work on an add-on which will be at https://gitlab.com/Freso/service.listenbrainz - I'll post a proper "RELz" post in here once I get it to a working state, but just thought I'd mention it in case anyone else finds this looking for an add-on. Smile

Hopefully if we get some good takeup I can leverage some of the data on TADB for recommendations and trends.

I did not think that the TheAudioDB today offered recommendations like "similar artists" or "similar songs" or "people who like this also often listen to..." or?

Have you heard about Gnod Music / Gnod AI engine which apparently offers that type of data for free but it not really available to end-users?

I first read about Gnod here when searching for a free "similar music artists database" => https://musicbrainz.org/doc/Other_Databases
