Linux Upgraded Kodi and now have terrible flickering

Ubuntu trusty 64-bit running on: http://paste.ubuntu.com/24192687/

Full log with debug enabled: http://paste.ubuntu.com/24192697/

from apt-get logs:

Code:
Preparing to unpack .../kodi_2%3a17.0~git20170210.1529-final-0trusty_all.deb ...
Unpacking kodi (2:17.0~git20170210.1529-final-0trusty) over (2:16.1~git20160424.1410-final-0trusty) ...
Preparing to unpack .../kodi-bin_2%3a17.0~git20170210.1529-final-0trusty_amd64.deb ...
Unpacking kodi-bin (2:17.0~git20170210.1529-final-0trusty) over (2:16.1~git20160424.1410-final-0trusty) ...

I can run kodi in windowed mode (it takes up only like a quarter of the screen) but if I put it into full screen mode, I get TERRIBLE flickering. Like almost unusable. Strangely it's intermittent - one some screens there is no flicker at all, and on others I can barely see what I'm doing. Ideas?

NVM - I think 14.04 is too old. Going to blow it away and start over with 16.04.

Is there a guide still for how to do a headless install using mini.iso?
