Hi,

i'm a fairly new Kodi user, and i just finished setting up my Kodi's (PC, Android and RaspPi) using an external library on my NAS which can be accessed from all the Kodi's i'm using. I really like the appearance of the movie/tv show tiles with random and changing posters of movies and shows. Unfortunately are the tiles pictures not displayed when using the external library, it's working fine when i use the local library.

Is it possible to use the random posters with external library?

hm i don't know if its the right term.

i've set up a MySQL Database on my NAS, and all my Kodi's are using and sharing it as library and are saving the progress of the played videos in there. The covers/posters are saved on the respective Kodi Device.

Did you try to re-add your backgrounds from the skin settings ?
Are the options like random Movies backgrounds and such missing in your setup ?

It should make absolutely no difference if you're using mysql or not.

i re-installed the skin again, and now the random movie backgrounds and tiles are working. but i have to manually edit the tile backgrounds, because they are not shown.

Yes, you will have to re-do your shortcuts customizations, sorry
