Is My All in One Dream Possible?
#1
Hi and apologies if this is in the wrong thread but didn't see anywhere else suitable (feel free to move)

I am wondering and hoping is this is possible?

Hoping to achieve a all in one front end using Kodi (the greatest program ever made) that will launch my Steam games directly from within Kodi. One other hopeful is that it will contain and show all relevant meta data/artwork via scrapping.

I am very aware that I can directly launch SteamBPM through various program add-ons, but my goal is to be able to view and launch directly within Kodi itself. What was perfect was SteamUI, but it is no longer supported and find it hangs on exit and ends up freezing with the need to manually restart.

I have dabbled a bit with Advanced Launcher and Advanced Emulator Launcher but am not really having much success getting it all accomplished.

Is there an guides for the above mentioned particularly for Steam games?
Or any other addon recommendations that would allow for my dream to come true?

Look forward to hearing your responses and advice.

There are a few options you could look into.

First is an addon called Rom Collection Browser. I used to use this for my Emulator/Rom collection, but it can be a pain to setup between devices, installations, etc. It's not terrible if you're familiar with RetroArch and some of it's commands/modifiers.

Second is launching a frontend program, which I know you said you did not want to do, but there are some very good emulator frontends which will also include your Steam library games. My favorite is Launchbox. It normally goes for ~$50(USD) but I bought a "forever license for $30 on sale awhile back, which is probably a pretty common deal. You can get it the free version, but the paid version supports "Big Box Mode". https://www.launchbox-app.com/big-box

Third, I believe there are forks of Kodi which specifically support gaming. I believe RetroPlayer (http://forum.kodi.tv/forumdisplay.php?fid=194) is still in development. I haven't looked into it in awhile, but I believe there was even some mentioning of the Retroplayer devs working with Kodi devs to combine their modifications. Don't quote me on that, though. I just remember reading it somewhere awhile back....at least a year ago. And I have a terrible memory. There are also gaming install "wizards". I believe the Ares wizard (http://www.ares-project-blog.com/kodi-ad...ro-gaming/) is a big one. I've never used it though.

Just a few notes worth mentioning for my own "perfect/dream" setup. If you use the Windows Netflix app, checkout http://sticky-ux.com/apps/NetflixRemoteController/ Sadly, there isn't one for Hulu. I'm probably going to be purchasing Playstation Vue as well, so I'm hoping I can find a remote. I also use a skin which is very friendly to adding shortcuts, works with Rom Collection Browser, etc. called Revolve. http://forum.kodi.tv/forumdisplay.php?fid=253

Sorry I couldn't be of more help.

Sorry I couldn't be of more help.

You were quite helpful, I know ROMs and Emulators are pretty much covered, but still cant find much that is current for Steam and/or PC games.
