Mysql Problems
#1
I have a Synology NAS. I'm running phpmyadmin with mariabd. I currently use OSMC versions of Kodi on several Raspberry Pi version 3 throughout my house. I used my main Kodi osmc to create a mysql database on the Synology by adding sources by doing the following:

In the OSMC network options, i filled out the Video and Music database information:

Name
IP adress
Port
User
Password

I then rebooted and added sources.

I logged into my NAS and ran phpmyadmin. I can see the database that was created for videos and music.

I am now trying to utilize the mysql database on my other OSMC Raspberry Pi devices, but I am running into problems. Im a novice at this stuff, so tech language will be confusing.

If someone can give me step by step instructions, it would be appreciated.

I tried adding the same info in the other Pi network menu, to no avail. I am lost as to what i need to do.

I read where i need to copy my advancedsettings.xml file, but how do you even do that.

Try a post on the OSMC forums (and search there)
Have you verified MySQL database is actually created?

I got it working

OSMC is the username and password for accessing the osmc utilizing filezilla.

Sftp://ip address of the osmc that you created the database with
Osmc for user
Osmc for password
22 for port

Browse to .kodi\userdata

Download the advancedsettings.xml

Now log into the osmc you want to paste the advancedsettings.xml file too using the same steps above

Restart the osmc you just copied the file too

Voila, it worked

Hope this helps someone else in the future
