Hi,

For the second time now when I've booted my pi running kodi aeon Nox I've found all my settings have been lost and it's reverted back to confluence.

I read up on it and heard it's something to do with aeon Nox saving settings lat on shutdown which doesn't always save correctly causing the file not to save hence losing everything.

Is there anything i can do about this otherwise customising settings and shortcuts to my files in my folders etc is pointless.

Is there a backup i can perform to ensure this is saved?

What Kodi version do you use?
What Aeon Nox Version do you try to install.

Thanks for getting back to me.

The kodi version is official version 6.0.3 kernel Linux 4.1.18

Aeon Nox is 5.8.6

Sorry, it's kodi 15.2

the Skin is for Kodi 16.0/16.1

Ah okay,

I have no idea how to update under aeon Nox but under confluence I've always had it set to auto updates. I've tried manual updates under elec but it does nothing. Is this going to need to be a flash of the SD card then?

Is it on a Raspberry?

After changing settings, change to another skin, then reboot, (not sure) then change back to Aeon.

Had a similar problem with xonfluence

It is Simple.
In the Addon.xml File inside the Skin directory ist al line like this.
<import addon="xbmc.gui" version="5.12.0"/>
It must look like this if you are using Kodi 15
<import addon="xbmc.gui" version="5.9.0"/>
or like this if you using Kodi 16
<import addon="xbmc.gui" version="5.10.0"/>
Or like the first one if you are using Kodi 17

Check this.

you can't just do that to make it work! as several things change in Kodi per version that a skin needs to update too! You'll find just bumping the gui might make it work but it probably won't work very well if at all due to some skinning changes applied per Jarvis and then Krypton.

you have to update Kodi to 16 or 17!
