I have set as default for all media but some videos ignore that and don't auto load the subtitles.

The "set as default for all media" works for external subtitles but some embedded subtitles just refuse to be enabled by default.

I'm on the latest MacOS 10.12.4 and Kodi 17.1
Any ideas?

Just an update if anyone else experiences something similar.

I solved this by going an other way. I assigned "enable subtitles" to a specific button on the remote, and took the chance to assign "subtitle delay" + and - to their own buttons as well.
