Denon HDMI - Nothing Will Play
#1
Hopefully this hasn't been answered too many times before but googling has not helped me much so far.

I have a Denon AVP-A1 and this previously worked fine with Kodibuntu with Kodi 16. I have since tried both Ubunutu 14.10 with Kodi 17.1 (Nvidia Prop driver installed and switched to ALSA) and LibreElec compiled from master. Exactly the same issue seems to occur with both. If the audio is set to non hdmi (Eg. Pulse Audio Bluetooth) then the video plays fine. If the Denon is selected as the output for sound (With or without bitstream) then the video and audio fail to play.

Here is my log:

Can anyone give any ideas on how to fix this?

I'll post what turned out to be the solution for me. The Issue was the Intel HDA driver defaults to legacy interrupts which is incompatible with a VM using a graphics card in PCI passthrough (Probably because NVidia cards are multifunction with the sound device on a sub function).

Solution was to put this in a conf file in modprobe.d:
options snd-hda-intel enable_msi=1

Oh well glad your working Smile

you have a pulseaudio device in there, best to kill pulseaudio when your using kodi read here:

http://kodi.wiki/view/PulseAudio/HOW-TO:...for_Ubuntu

I may be wrong but this is how i get perfect audio then you can run "pulseaudio --start" or "pulseaudio --kill" when requied without it respawning.
