And did you follow Rechi's advice?

I'm using Vista 64. Same problem. Any suggestions? There's nothing in the Win64 directory.

To run Kodi on a Windows Vista platform, I understand you need all the fixes and patches for it to work.

I am running windows 7 ultimate 64 bit with service pack 1 and get the same error message that I need to install the platform update. It is already installed but I cannot seem to install Kodi...........any thoughts on what I am doing wrong?
Thanks in advance for any info.

Getting the same message on mine about the platform update.. I'm on a 10 year old Hp pc with Vista 32 bit.. The Kodi 15 and 16 and the 16.1 ran like a top.. The 16.1 is stilling doing great, but I wanted, of course, to move on up to 17.1.. I wish I could, but even after doing a long update like I was directed, I get the exact same message. And you get it AFTER it deletes the older Kodi, which is such a hassle.
