v17 Cannot install
#1
HuhI only have Windows Vista and trying to upgrade the Kodi to Krypton from Jarvis.
I downloaded the upgrade file but when i try to run it says i need the platform update for Windows (KB971644).
I checked my system and it had installed this file over a year ago.
Any help would be grateful.Nod

Please try again with http://mirrors.kodi.tv/nightlies/win32/K...rypton.exe
It's 17.1 with a change for the Windows Update detection and a few other fixes for Kodi.

I'm using Vista 64. Same problem. Any suggestions? There's nothing in the Win64 directory.

To run Kodi on a Windows Vista platform, I understand you need all the fixes and patches for it to work.

I am running windows 7 ultimate 64 bit with service pack 1 and get the same error message that I need to install the platform update. It is already installed but I cannot seem to install Kodi...........any thoughts on what I am doing wrong?
Thanks in advance for any info.

Getting the same message on mine about the platform update.. I'm on a 10 year old Hp pc with Vista 32 bit.. The Kodi 15 and 16 and the 16.1 ran like a top.. The 16.1 is stilling doing great, but I wanted, of course, to move on up to 17.1.. I wish I could, but even after doing a long update like I was directed, I get the exact same message. And you get it AFTER it deletes the older Kodi, which is such a hassle.

No one mentioned the exact error and without debug logs I can only assume one of two things... this http://forum.kodi.tv/showthread.php?tid=...pid2569770 or you missed the sticky here.http://forum.kodi.tv/showthread.php?tid=311821

Failure, please; a proper debug log (wiki) posted to a public pastebin site and link that URL back to this thread.
