You would also need to support auto-ducking, which would lower the volume of the movie whenever there is audio in the RiffTrax.

I wouldn't consider that a "must have" right out of the gate. Sure it would be awesome, but I've watched RiffTrax plenty of times with out the premixed auto-ducked audio. As long as you have isolated control over movie audio (like with your DTS receiver) it's fine, as long as you have someone willing to babysit the volume. That person is generally me anyway because I'm anal about such things Smile

Edit: Of course that would depend on the two audio streams remaining separate, instead of having the audio engine mux them together. For example whenever I have rifftrax get-togethers, I'll play the HD movie with XBMC which sends DTS to my surround sound receiver, and then a separate program running in the background that plays the RiffTrax audio through my TV speakers.

This would still be so awesome (shameless bump)

How fun with it not be to have a MST3K addon plugin in XBMC that both downloads RiffTrax movie commentaries from rifftrax.com and stream the whole movie too for free!

If the RiffTrax format is just MP3 with a different file extension name, then XBMC would still need the capability to playback two audio tracks at once.

The patch for Loading/Play external audio tracks support would not hurt to have here first https://github.com/xbmc/xbmc/pull/1337

Kodi still do not support playing two audio tracks at the same time with DVDPlayer, right?

And there is also still no support for playing an external audio track with a video? As per
https://github.com/xbmc/xbmc/pull/6104
https://github.com/xbmc/xbmc/pull/2562
https://github.com/xbmc/xbmc/pull/1337

Still, I second the shameless bump.

Being able to have a RiffTrax addon for Kodi would be very fun
