How could one make Kodi show the missing (not available on the drive) episodes of a series?

FWIW, I use Trakt ( http://trakt.tv ).
To get it to work you need to register with Trakt (free), ensure all episodes are scraped correctly, and then install the Trakt add-on from the Kodi repository. That will ensure the Trakt web site is updated when you capture an episode. I then use the calendar view on the Trakt web site to keep track of missing episodes. Even better, adding a future show in Trakt ensures you don't miss the start of the first season.
