Hello. I was poking around (I know, I know) at the settings in the web interface. There is a setting to change the websockets port and the websockets host address. The "tip" beside the input field for the websockets host said that you should select 'auto' for automatic configuration. I did not see a selection pull down, so I typed 'auto' into the address field and clicked saved. Well, that was a mistake, because now my web interface access is broken. So how do you change this setting manually outside of the web interface? Any easy way to undo that change without access to the settings page? Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

BTW, I was only changing that setting because I was getting the "Lost websocket connection" message frequently (though the web interface would continue to work). That will be another problem to solve once I regain access.

If you can't get to the settings page, the easiest fix is to clear your browser local storage http://www.ghacks.net/2015/02/05/how-to-...of-choice/ - this will wipe all chorus settings and playlists

for the lost websocket connection error, make sure you have "Allow programs on other systems to control Kodi" enabled in Kodi

Thanks. The issue ended up being that Kodi crashed on the remote machine. All is good now.
