v17 Crashes when playing video
#1
Fresh Kodi 17 install / no add-ons, crashes when hitting play on any video, tried a number of different ones.

1. Complete Debug log http://paste.ubuntu.com/24437791/
2. No screen shot. Crash on play always
3. Kodi (17.1 Git:20170320-nogitfound)
4. Ubuntu 14.04.4 LTS, kernel: Linux x86 64-bit version 3.13.0-79-generic
5. Intel® Celeron® CPU J1900 @ 1.99GHz, 4 cores / full spec: http://paste.ubuntu.com/24437879/
6. Install: apt-get
7. GIT: above
8. No addons
9. Simply trying to play any file
10. Tried, but don't see core file in the directory from which I launched Kodi

I think you are suffering from a J1900-problem ....,
see also here: http://forum.kodi.tv/showthread.php?tid=253700

You can fix it by:
sudo nano /etc/default/grub
edit the line : GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX as following

GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX="intel_idle.max_cstate=2"

Refresh grub settings :
sudo update-grub

There are most likely better (less Power) fixes available, but this is working fine for me for the last 6 months

In the meantime kernel 4.10.12 should have that issue fixed without reducing the max_cstate - you can install it via ubuntu mainline.
First decide what functions / features you expect from a system. Then decide for the hardware. Don't waste your money on crap.
