Non-TV/Movie Media, Opinions Needed
#1
I have been using Kodi for a few months now and I absolutely love it. I'm just not sure how to best manage my media that does not fall under the TV/Movie umbrella. I currently have all my media spread out on my NAS (6 different HD Volumes) and organized into folders (TV, Movie, Sports Games, Compilations, Pro Wrestling Events, Pro Wrestling matches, etc., etc.).

This is where I was hoping everybody could offer me advice on the best way to handle the media that does not fall under the TV/Movie categories. I would love to access them the same way as TV/Movie Library so I can use all of the features and add-ons (PseudoTV Live, etc.), just not sure how practical it is. How would everyone else handle this situation? Is there a good way to handle this or should I just watch the non TV/Movie stuff through the file listing and forget about it? Either way I am sure that I will be doing a lot of file re-naming but just curious what my options are.

Thanks in advance for the help.

It is good that all your non movie/tv shows are in their own separate directory, which makes it a lot easier to scrape and sort. Each of those directories would now become a "Source" in Kodi, and have their own individual scraper settings.

If you head over to this forum... http://forum.kodi.tv/forumdisplay.php?fid=147 you might be able to find scrapers for your sports and other media. If you cannot find a suitable scraper, then you always have the option of creating your own nfo files. An nfo file provides the same function as an internet based metadata scraper, but you have to create it, which gives you full control on how it looks. There are plenty of programs that do this. I like this one... http://forum.kodi.tv/showthread.php?tid=142723

Once you scrape all your sources, they will end up in the TV Show directory (because they are recurring events so are more like tv show episodes, and not stand alone movies). You might be happy with that, or you may want to separate them out completely. Three options you have

1. Leave them in TV Shows listing
2. If you do not use the Music Videos node, then re-name it to Sports (or whatever you choose) and set your scrapers on those sources to either use the sports scrapers or local information if you create your nfo's
3. Separate your nodes in TV Shows using this guide... http://kodi.wiki/view/Custom_home_items

Hope that's enough to get you started.
