Hello. I am running Kodi 17 on a windows 10 frontend and server wmc on a windows 7 backend (hd home run x 9 tuners)

I have a new problem since i upgraded to Kodi17. When i record any show more than 30 minutes (such as 1 hour or 2 hours or 4 hours) i can only watch the first 40 minutes of the recording. When i try to play it in kodi it says the show is somewhere between 39 minutes and 45 minutes long when the actual show is 2 hours long. If i take the file share on the wmc server and open the recorded WTV files in VLC the whole program is recorded just fine there all 2hours or 4 hours worth.

Suggestions on what i can do to troubleshoot this behavior better?

Try playing one of these large wtv files without using serverwmc/pvr.wmc, but just opening the file directly with kodi. If kodi still thinks the wtv is short then I think you need to submit this as a bug to the kodi team along with a file example.

Are you using the newest kodi 17?

I hope this helps answer your questions. I am very new to this forum, but a long time Kodi user.

Pretty sure the problem is you're having kodi use URLs instead of a network share for kodi to get access to the wtv files. This mode is not supported with kodi (it is with plex amd emby). In the serverwmc settings file (you can get to it from the debug tab), search for UseUrlClientPaths_Kodi and change it to:

<UseUrlClientPaths_Kodi>false</UseUrlClientPaths_Kodi>
