Voice Hat / RPi3 + Kodi & Google Ai
#1
Question
Hi All,

I am a noob a slowly getting into RPi Kodi world (currently running KODI 17.1 on RPi3). Recently I lucked out and picked up Google's Voice Hat in the MagPi magazine in a local Microcenter store.

Here is what I am trying to do:

Have KODI respond to Google Voice commands (i.e. Play, Pause, maybe even search movies). I saw solutions using IFTTT and solutions without Voice Hat but is it possible to run google voice natively together with Kodi 17.1?

Thanks,
B

I think that is coming in 18.

I presume that functionality will be built in by default? But can I do this now with 17.1? Seems that I need to pass a Json command or am I dreaming?

If you can pass a json command, you can control kodi.

See: http://kodi.wiki/view/JSON-RPC_API/v8

kodi-send may be useful for experimenting.

Thank you all. I think I have enough to read.

I will reply if I do anything meaningful.
