MythTV client support in XBMC for Mac OS X?
#1
Question
i discovered recently that xbmc supports connecting to mythtv directly using:

myth://user:pass@HOST

so i decided to try it out on osxbmc; i can get the top level directory of Recordings and Live Channels; however, under Recordings, a list of my show come up and then immediately osxbmc will crash. with the Live Channels, i get the channels list and the current program, and i get an audio stream for a few seconds (no picture) and then it crashes.

it seems soo close to working! it would be great if it would...

i'm not sure whether the main linux branch's myth support is operational as i don't have a powerful enough linux host to try it out.

cheers.

Myth isn't supported on OS X yet. I need to recompile the library, perhaps more. If a ticket doesn't exist for this, please create one.

I don't see a ticket, but I could have missed it. I posted both logs:

http://pastebin.com/m6d1a3d52

If there truly isn't a ticket please let me know and I would be happy to create one.

(I am using XBMC 8.10-b2 on OS X 10.4, running against MythBuntu 8.04.)

update to XBMC 8.10 for Mac (just released), it's fixed there.

Also remember that your mythtv backend name/IP needs to be added to /etc/hosts on your OSX box.

I have XBMC for Mac (latest version) installed on my Mac Book running 10.5.6 and the Mythtv source does work. I do have a few folder icons in the Folder that was created. Any clues?

Thanks,

My tuners were numbered above 15, I found the problem when I moved to my dev box.

Thanks for the greatest Media Creation since MythTV.
