This is what you need to do:
Install Ubuntu.
Install Envy or your graphiccards driver how you want (envy is simple but only works on ATI and Nvidia)
on Hardy:
Code:
sudo apt-get install envyng-gtk
sudo envyng-gtk
And follow onscreen instructions

XBMC is install by adding this in System -> Administration -> Software Sources -> Third Party Software and doing this in terminal after.

You might need to add multiverse and universe in System -> Admininstration -> Software sources to install envy
