@MikeKL can you test #1002 with the VPN manager addon disabled? If that fixes the issue please contact the addon maintainer. The connman PR is scheduled to be included in the next LE9.2 release so if his addon doesn't cope well with that he should look into getting a fix - or the VPN manager might soon be broken both for testbuilds and stable LE releases.

so long,

Hias

Disabled VPN Manager in 1002 rebooted rpi and access to internet (not local network) issue is still there and exactly same. Do you want any additional information with 1002 installed and VPN Manager disabled. (Can provide info tomorrow)

Just noticed what's going wrong, the default Google nameservers that were previously setup went AWOL, will have a look into fixing that.

  • Docker doesn't start during regular boot.  systemctl start docker worked during my first test run.
  • I then needed to start the containers manually, i.e.
    • systemctl start docker.linuxserver.portainer.service
    • systemctl start docker.linuxserver.mariadb.service
  • After systemctl restart kodi, Kodi successfully conntected to my mariadb.

I don't really know anything about Docker. Do you have the same behaviour if you install the official 9.1.002 (you should be able to downgrade from #0805 to 9.1.002)? Assuming this latest version of Docker is backward compatible with the older 4.19.y kernel in 9.1.002 (and I believe it should be) then if you still have startup problems it would be better to open a thread on the LibreELEC forum to address the Docker issue as this might be a new regression with the latest Docker add-on.
FYI I today tried out "devel-20191005212130-#1005-g96737bf" with updated addons.  It still shows the same behavior.  I've reverted back to devel-20190713210301-#0713-gded3266 (RPi2.arm) and Docker is working again as expected.

Unfortunately, I currently do not have time to debug this further myself – sorry Undecided  Still, I am happy to try new builds and give more feedback though.

Thanks for the update. You didn't mention if you tested 9.1.002 (or 9.1.501, as it is now) with the latest Docker add-on - if you still have problems then it's not really an issue specific to these test builds. For now I'm not sure what else to suggest other than sticking with #0713 and keep trying test builds periodically, or switch back to "stable" 9.1.501 as these test builds don't always mix well with add-ons. Sad

ANNOUNCEMENT: Kodi 19 (master) has now merged the change from Python2 to Python3, which is great news (and not before time, as all Python2 support ends on 1 Jan 2020).

However this Kodi master change does have serious implications for LibreELEC 10, and in particular these test builds, as it will take some time for the Python3 adaptations to occur in the LibreELEC master tree.

Until then, it is not possible for me to provide any further nightly builds. I don't have an ETA when the LibreELEC work will be complete. It could be days, or weeks. Hopefully not months.

Even once the LibreELEC work is complete, loads of your favourite Python-based add-ons will likely be broken, but hopefully most will be updated between now and then now that there is a real motivation to ensure Python 3 compatability (Kodi 19 nightlies with Python 3 on other platforms such as Windows, Linux, Android etc. should continue to be available).

Apologies for the interruption of service, I do hope normal service will resume sooner than later!
Texture Cache Maintenance Utility: Preload your texture cache for optimal UI performance. Remotely manage media libraries. Purge unused artwork to free up space. Find missing media. Configurable QA check to highlight metadata issues. Aid in diagnosis of library and cache related problems.
Thanks for announcement with explanation. Will miss nightly LibreELEC RPI builds and look forward to their return at a future date.  This will be an enforced opportunity to have a break from regular installation and typical usage test of the builds. (My typical kodi daily usage)

Thank you Milhouse for all your hard relentless work and effort maintaining such regular nightly builds with clear explanation of changes in each build.
