Appears that 1227 fixes the random crashing/resetting RPi3 issue. Smile  Thanks so much @Milhouse

Hmmm... this is the mmal related crash after the firmware update in #1211? I'm not sure that anything in #1227 addresses that particular issue - my hunch would be that it's probably not yet fixed... but may be a little more elusive.

The #1227 didn't correct the random crashing/resetting RPi3 issue.
The problem remains here.
When you enable the black bar zoom-option, the subtitles are also zoomed. With zoom at 10% I can only read half of the text. Tested with the latest nightly.

Experienced crashing and rebooting on 1221 and 1224 (but not on 1129 or 1210), but haven't had it happen with hours of viewing on 1227.  Sorry for the premature excitement if it hasn't been fixed. Using RPi3, MMAL, ethernet, 1080p mkv.

Do you know when this started?

Unfortunately no, I used the black bar zoom the first time today.

Can you post a screengrab or photo of how it looks?

Edit: Also does it matter what type of subtitle file is used to reproduce? Internel/external subs, text or graphics subs, video container type?

If it's possible to reproduce with an MKV + external srt or ass subs then I'll try to reproduce.

Here's a screenshot: https://i.imgur.com/tLk31rm.png

The subtitles are part of the mkv file. I noticed that it happens with the regular zoom as well.

I also added an external srt file for testing, it doesn't happen there.
