I'm half expecting a link to a previous post explaining my issue (like the black screen issue everyone posted about), but I haven't seen anyone else post about it 🤷🏼‍♂️

I'm having an issue with audio 🤦🏼‍♂️ Running the latest build, #609. RPi4 connected to the TV with HDMI cable (obviously).
When I play a video file, most times than not, the video plays, but not the audio - I have to stop the playback and start the playback again... Sometimes the audio works but sometimes I have to do this more than once to get the audio working. The next thing that is odd is when the audio doesn't play, if I press the backspace button to go back to the menus (with the video playing in the background), the audio starts. Then if I go back into the video playback, the audio sometimes stops and sometimes continues...

The most annoying this is I cannot replicate or pinpoint the behaviour...
I can't work out if it's going to take one playback restart or a few - its always a guess...
It all seems VERY random when it happens.

Any help would be awesome.

I suppose a debug log that that includes this behaviour might be the best place to start, so if you after enabling debug logging if you are able to reproduce please upload the debug log.

How are you playing these streams - via another addon?

Strange - I've not seen this. How is your audio configured? e.g. num of channels/passthrough? Do you have an AVR or just TV?

I have the RPi4 plugged straight into the TV with an HDMI cable. TV is connected wirelessly to the same brand (Samsung) soundbar - same issue though when I don't use the soundbar and use TV speakers.

I see in a later post @Milhouse wants logs... Will send logs...

@popcornmix, I assume you aren't having this issue on your RPi4?

   It will however result in some reduced functionality/regressions:
   
   * 3D MVC playback from ISO is no longer working, but MVC in MKVs should be working (the best option is to remux 3D ISOs to MKV - no re-encoding necessary)
   * some performance optimisations are no longer present which may be most noticeable on RPi0/RPi1
   * niche formats such as mpeg4 with gmc and realvideo are no longer supported
   
   Hopefully 3D MVC ISO support will return in a different (upstream) form in future, although this can't be guaranteed at this time.
   
   This change has no effect on RPi4 which has never used newclock5 in these test builds, and has always used upstream kodi.

I am actually using .strm files directly in Kodi. You can drop them in a folder and add that folder under the Videos section of Kodi/LE. Now, I installed your new nightly and inputstream.adaptive is working now using this sintel.strm (https://pastebin.com/raw/iHE69CXn):

As said, this rtmp stream is online and it works on Matrix Windows, Android and even a friend's AMLOGIC built from LibreElec master branch. For some reason it doesn't connect on your RPI build.

To further check, I started a putty session to it and ran rtmpdump to check and get this:

I'm able to play both your stream files from the /storage/videos folder using #0617 on RPi3+.

The texturecache.py method is also working for me with #0617 on RPi3+:

It might be a configuration issue, or a local networking issue. Maybe an IPv4 or IPv6 issue (total guess)?

I've tested with my "normal" configuration (with various addons installed, enabled etc.) but I can also confirm that a "clean" .kodi installation is working too (no need to install or enable any addons - just finish the First Run Wizard, set a webserver password if you wish, then play the videos).

Hi @Milhouse - and thanks for testing this. I did what you suggest and made a fresh install on my SDcard using DLTool and LE Rpi2 9.2.3. Then I updated to your  #0617 build and now rtmp is working too. Really don't know what caused the connection problems with that particular rtmp link as other links were working.

 Looks like you are playing ac3 with passthough disabled and channels set to 5.1.
Can you try with channels set to 2.0, passthrough enabled (with ac3 and dts formats enabled), and ac3 transcoding enabled?
That should also support multichannel - do you get the channel mapping issue?

It is related to the changes in OpenSSL 1.1x and caused by bugs in the outdated patch file: https://github.com/LibreELEC/LibreELEC.t...sl11.patch. You can see my PR from one and a half years ago which was later merged into inputstream.rtmp 2.0.5:  https://github.com/xbmc/inputstream.rtmp/pull/46.
Today we built the addon for both 9.8 and 9.2.3 using the fixed patch from here https://github.com/xbmc/inputstream.rtmp...-1.1.patch and rtmpe then works.
