Which Linux distro should XBMC officially support next?
What I'd really like to see before another distribution is supported, is a 64 bit version of XBMC Live (based on 64 bit Ubuntu or whatever).
Team XBMC doesn't intend to "support" any other distributions ourselves. Ubuntu will remain the official Linux development platform for the foreseeable future. We will, however, be willing to work with maintainers for your favorite distribution to get XBMC included in their standard repositories. But it will be up to you to drum up interest in the appropriate parties. Get a maintainer to collect a list of blockers and post it on trac for us to review. Odds are a majority of problems are known and fixes are already in the works.

I've already briefly laid out the benefits of this approach in another thread (http://forum.xbmc.org/showpost.php?p=473178&postcount=6).
