The are not assigned because normaly they are auto recognized by the drivers.
The buttons Up, Down, Left & Right are not working for you ?

@Freebyrd
To do this I have to play with the regedit.
The best way for you is to place a shortcut in :
C:\Users\YourUserName\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Startup

For the "Not Assigned" keys, is the same as for ccMatrix.
It's writed not assigned because they are auto recognized by the drivers.
The "Not Assigned keys" are working anyway ?

Cya,
Dav.

The "Not Assigned" keys are not working for me. With auto-recognized do you mean the separate HID keyboard which can be installed for the devices?

if you want to call it working, when you hit the button once it does the command twice most of the time.

Really strange because normally it work ONLY when keys are pressed not when they are released. I Don't know what reply in this case Sad

Sounds like the application is interpreting the keys as well as the X10 HID keyboard. If he disables the X10 HID device in the device manager it should only fixed.

cdouglas Wrote:It works really well with my setup along with the ATI remote app running at the same time.

The only issue I have is that it appears that its listening for all channels for a remote instead of being able to lock it down to one like the ATI app. I have problems in my house with getting random signals received by the remote where it will shut down the running applications. Is it possible to lock your app to one channel?

thanks
chris

Maybe a good news for you ;-)
Check this folder : C:\Program Files\Common Files\X10\Common
Is there "xcplmed.exe" ? If yes, run it and try to lock the right channel.
NB : There is no modification into X10-BMC to support this. (3th Patry apps)
I just found this on my computer & maybe it help you, for what you need.

I don't have this file in my folder. Which version of x10net.dll do you have - maybe this is bundled into newer versions?

Download last version (just added 1 minute ago)
Same link as last one (new version v0.0.11)
Try if your button Left, right, etc ... are working.
Please don't forget to give your feedback for the others.

The keys are now listed without the "Not assigned" string. But I don't see any reaction to these keys in XBMC.

Code:
03.01.2009 18:37:48    Up     - Up
03.01.2009 18:37:48    Down     - Down
03.01.2009 18:37:49    Left     - Left
03.01.2009 18:37:49    Right     - Right

Here are all the buttons on my remote (except the power button):

03.01.2009 18:45:58    MTLeft     - Navigator

Since they are all recognized it would make sense to just extend the application with a configuration panel where we can assign custom keyboard keys/commands to the different keys on the remote.

Some small related question: XBMC is using the keys Zero through Nine as the numbers 0 ... 9. Since it isn't recognized through keymap.xml is there any way to simulate SMS style input using your app?

- Did you check if you have the right version of the DLL ?
- You can also try in windowed mode + with & without focus on XBMC.

The result still the same ?

I downloaded the latest drivers for the firefly remote from their site.

does the same thing in windowed mode

Tried it out of focus and the up down left right ok button exit or menu buttons didn't work then I hit pause and it seemed to work as it changed menus when I hit the button.
