Hi all, first I am running ubuntu 8.04.1 and xbmc SVN:14719
I followed the instructions on the xbmc online manual to download the SVN source, compile it and I am running it from the original location I downloaded and built the source in (~/user/XBMC)
I have been editing the keymap.xml file in Userdata but was running into cases where it is ignoring my key selections in favor of the settings in the keymap file located in the system folder.
Also If I try to put the same edited keymap.xml file in system as I have in userdata I get some strange results, mainly the <select>Select</select> mapping in general gets ignored and I have to place that code in each of the individual areas to get it to work (home, musiclibrary, videolibrary, etc)
can anyone give me some info on what might be happening here, I assume I just don't fully understand the relationship between the two files here or how to force xbmc to use one over the other..
