Is there a way to configure the mouse behaviour? for example, to use the wheel during reproduction to rewind/fast forward or to volume up/down, or to use the wheel click to turn on/off fullscreen video... searching for that in the online manual or the forums lead me to nowhere.

No - there's currently not anyway to modify the mouse behaviour. A patch would be most welcome in this area, as it's one of the only input devices that isn't mappable.

Note that you *should* be able to access everything in the default skin with the mouse, though I'm not 100% certain as I never use it unless a bug has been reported about it
