srj1209, you really should have started your own thread. But to answer your questions.

2. Depends. Some cards support audio through a dvi-->hdmi setup and some don't (be sure the cable supports audio too). The model you listed wasn't specific enough in terms of hardware because I saw some mention of displayport as well and it's entirely possible the unit has both (use displayport if that's the case). You will want to get it to hdmi for the video regardless of the audio support. Update your graphics drivers in any case.

3. If your data is NTFS, stick with Windows; it will save you grief. USB 2.0 is fine, I watch 20+ GB mkv with hd audio without issue. As long as your machine can handle it internally, it can handle it over USB 2.0.
