Having trouble playing the 1080p
#1
Hi guys.
I am having a problem witch I think I am not suppose to have.
When I play BBC's Planet Earth the bird scene It seems like my htpc does not quite get it. Its like first 2 secs look fine, then the good stuff starts and then it plays to slow then to fast then to slow.... trough the scene, changing between slow/fast every second or so.

I'm running XP SP2 and XBMC beta 2 build 15906.
I have:
AMD 2,4G x2,
2G RAM,
NVIDIA 9600GT w/updated driver.
Asus motherboard

Is there something that I have to do to get this good ?
Something about hardware acceleration maybe ?
To tell the GPU to handle more of the load from the CPU ?

There's no GPU work involved. All the decoding happens on the CPU and I think yours is too slow to handle that sample.

I have a Core2 Duo clocked at 2.7 GHz and it was pretty much the minimum I could get away with to decode that scene without slowdowns (resorted to clocking it at 3.0 GHz just to be sure.).

Don't worry about it, that scene is encoded at a very high bitrate and you should be just fine playing properly encoded 1080p videos.
