quick clarification on HTPC spec
#1
if my information is correct, when putting together a HTPC to run XBMC the only component i need worry about - to any degree - is the processor. if i intend to play 1080i material i should be using a dual core at at least 2G. the video card need NOT be state of the art due to the OpenGL-2.0 approach taken by the developers? it simply has to support the OpenGL 2.0?

if i am playing back mostly 720i material then even a single core processor is effective?

looking at the HD3450 card with a Athlon 3800+ processor.
old components laying around that i thought should be enough to do what i need with XBMC.

i have the XBMC setup and running on an XBOX, but the lack of support for the maktroska 720 material is a deal killer for me.... i have so much material in that format and the XBOX chokes on it....

thanks

If it supports OpenGL 2.0 your fine.

Yes, my cpu is a AMD64 3200+ and plays mkv's 720p just fine (1080p i'ts unwatchable due to high frame drop).
