Streaming Media Services Support in XBMC?

Does xbmc support Streaming Media Services?

Streaming Media Services is found in Windows server 2003 and 2008.

I am wanting to store all my media on a central server and use XBMC PCs to connect and play the Media.

Streaming Media Services controls the streaming of media faster than simple file sharing.

Does anyone know if XBMC supports Streaming Media Services?

Are their any other servers that are very efficient at media streaming and transfer control.

Sounds like a proprietary bastardization of UPNP. What's wrong with samba?

Edit: No it's not currently supported, nor is it on the slate AFAIK.
