is there any way to get xmbc running with an nvidia 7800gt with composite tv-out ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Composite_video ).

what entries would i have to make where in the xbmc/or 8.10 live?

my problem is that i only get a black and white screen :-(

This is more of an underlying OS thing. I'd recommend going to the ubuntu forums and figuring out how to get video out over composite in general. Once you have your desktop out to the tv it as simple as setting the SDL_FULLSCREEN_HEAD env var to the proper display value and running XBMC.
