I have been using XBMC on a modded Xbox (or 3) for ages now and have just got around to looking at adding our Xbox360 to the network.
However it looks like the 360 cannot see the xbox drive to get at media files and that there is no media centre SERVER software available if I wanted to use the 360 drive as the server instead of the current 750Gb that I have in the Xbox1.
Please tell me if I am wrong about the statement above... I know the 360 can read other network drives and servers and work as a media extender... just not from an Xbox1.
So I have looked the new XBMC for Windows to see if that can help...
I run xbmc as the boot dashboard on the Xbox1, Is there a way of keeping the xbox1 as my main server and accessing the media files in XBMC for windows?
This will at least sort half my problems out if it does.
Can you use a remote control with SBMC for windows?
I have used a couple of hardware media servers in the past from both Hauepage and Prismiq and both were found to be either slow or glitchy and would rather sort this out using the hardware I have.
