Music Library Scan doesn't capture all songs

Thanks for your investigation. I'll take a look at your logs.

Do you mind posting a diff of your source changes as well, if you haven't done so?

Cheers,
Jonathan

Hi Jonathan,

Enabled debug and catpured this log session:

Log 1: Scan Items To Library (http://pastebin.com/f5c97bd3b)

Exited XBMC (Win32 SVN 18004), backed up XBMC.LOG (see Log 1), restarted and ran this log capture session:

Log 2: Update Library (http://pastebin.com/f6605579b)

I deleted the Music DB and Thumbnails and tried it again on the same NAS folder structure. Fails at the exact same place:

Rhonda Byrnes - Disc 1, only track 11 appears in Library: Attract - Bill Harris.mp3 (first MP3 when DIR is sorted by Name).

NAS Folder List: (http://pastebin.com/f5d202f1)

Cross-Platform Thread:
http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?tid=42272

Let me know if you need any other specifics or what else I can do.

Cheers,

KZ

Aha!

I know the problem. Weird that I haven't noticed it! It is because the transaction stuff was removed from the scanner.

Try commenting out ln 304-308 in MusicDatabase.cpp and rescan.

Hi Jonathan,

Ran the same tools against all the files on the NAS folder structure included in the previous post; all files appear to check clean - no failures.

TheNME123 Wrote:So i found the problem. One ogg vorbis file was corrupted and that stopped the scan from working correctly after this file.

I know this is not XBMCs fault but it would be nice if the scanner could just skip those items and continue to scan the rest of the files correctly.

For people having the same probs here is a tool which scans audio files for corruption:

Thanx for your help

Btw: I tried using the music library under Windows Vista x86 but i could not scan any item to the library. it was just empty after each scan.

Basically it should get up to the nearest multiple of 502. Check the number of files in your db please.

Very much appreciated Jonathan.
