I'm just building an Antec-Fusion HTPC myself, would be nice to have the iMon VFD working too Big Grin since TE5LA said it just requires XBMC and the iMon software, I'll try that first and let you know if it works.

Also found this thread in which the iMon 3rd party API thing is used to control the screen with a Python script that reads from the XBMC webserver. Worth a try?

TE5LA is running on linux - it's a whole different ball game. I have the fusion as well and spent many days trying the various 'hacks' to get it to work and gave up. The case now sits behind closed doors anyway. Big Grin

Heheh, fair enough. There must be something that can be done though - what if we all contact Soundgraph to request support for XBMC? Might get results if we all tried - especially considering the number of people that seem to be buying iMon hardware and then trying to run XBMC on it.

How long would it really take them to release an XBMC controller preset and basic functionality for the VFD?? XBMC is even open source, it's not like they wouldn't have access to all the information they'd need.

They can can barely translate the manual to English! But go ahead and contact them and see how it goes! Big Grin

Question
Has anyone got a fix for this now? I just bought a Antec Remote chassis.

Would really like that VFD to show some information!

It has a lot of other icons, like DTS, DD and DivX, MP3 etc. can these be used with XBMC?

hi there

i just bought a antec micro fusion chassis. now that i've read this thread i was afraid that it will take a while to get the lcd to work properly.
BUT i just found this on the official imon homepage:

(03) [New Feature] Support Media Information from XBMC and MPC-HC in FrontView
(04) [New Feature] Support Media Information from Media Information from KMPlayer, foobar2000, Quintessential Media Player and Media Monkey
- You can enable/disable this feature and select "Port" in "iMON Manager>iMON Utilities>FrontView>Media Information"
- You should check "Enable Webserver" and select "Port" in XBMC's Setting>Netwrok>Server
- You should check "Listen on port" and select "Port" in MPC-HC's Option > Player > Web Interface

http://www.soundgraph.com/forums/showthread.php?t=6074

/update
with just installing the new software and enabling xbmc support, its showing the current video filename that i play with xbmc or the id3 info of mp3's (artist, album, songtitle).
havent found the time yet to see if theres more details to configure for e.g. displaying the elapsed time also.

download of the 100mb file is pretty slow. guess i'll report back if its working fine in about an hour Smile

Nice try but unfortunately we are not talking about a touch screen "high resolution" LCD but about simple 96 x 16 LCDs with some custom icons. I wonder how you wanna fit YATSE on there not to talk about controlling it ;-)

BUT as a matter of fact I jjust saw yesterday that Soundgraph released a "Display API" which allows to run custom programs as "plugins" by using the API. I will definitly look into it. Looks like it's time to ditch my hacky man-in-the-middle-attack DLL and go back to the iMon Manager.

Could you please assist me in setting up the remote that came with a Silverstone LC-20 vfd case, in order to control xbmc, instead of using a Logitech Dinovo Mini?
It is an imon remote control.

Just a head's up for anyone with an iMON LCD and/or VFD who would like to see media information from files playing in XBMC on their display. I started working on an application called "XBMC on iMON Display" which does that (not much information for now as I just started and don't have that much time, but you get the title of the currently playing movie, "artist - title" of the currently playing song or "show: SXXEXX - title" of the currently playing tv episode).

I started a thread at http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?tid=84166 so make sure to take a look and try it.
