Can XBMC for Mac stream audio/video to an Xbox 360?
#1
Question
I'm looking at getting my first Mac. However, the big stumbling block is streaming to my 360. I have a softmodded Xbox with XBMC and love it. But, I'm wondering. Can you stream music and videos to the 360 from a Mac? Can you do it with XBMC?

Thanks.

Welcome to the forums.

So long as the 360's upnp client isn't retarded it should work. Though there are good odds it is. Try searching the forums for streaming to 360 and you should find plenty of info.

It should work, but only audio/video formats that the Xbox360 support, and only items that are in XBMC library (meaning you must scan them all first), see:

Always read the XBMC online-manual, FAQ and search the forum before posting.
Do not e-mail XBMC-Team members directly asking for support. Read/follow the forum rules.

So if I set up UPnP shares on XBMC on my Mac, then the 360 will the Mac on my network? I can then stream content to the 360?

Has anyone done this?

This is just one of the considerations I have before I pull the trigger and purchase my first Mac. I really want to be able to stream content to my 360.

Thanks
