Configure nvidia tv-out GeForce 8400

Question
Greetings all, cannot find an answer to this, have searched, but no hits for tv-out, tvout or "tv out"

Ubuntu Intrepid Ibex is working fine on standard DVI plug to HP monitor as you would usually do. Using Dell GX-280, Nvidia PCI-X GeForce 8400, with Nvidia driver V1.77 as recommended

Want to connect the RCA tv-out to my older Sony television. Have run "sudo nvidia-settings" and it has recognised the CRT-0 and TV-0, looks fine.

Question is - How do I get and app (to be specific XBMC) to run on the tv-out to my television ! What do I need to tell app to display on TV-0 instead of the normal Ubuntu display device ?

Also - Is there a test program to display some simple graphics or whatever on the external tv screen ?

Thanks and Regards,
Robert

Did try to google it. There are a lot of articles on the web on how to do it. some links below :

Most of them use specifc options in the xorg.conf
